Craft-a-Flower: Garden Rose
Card 1:
I used spicy yoghurt cardstock for the base of my card. I die cut a white die from Reflections Die and inked it with espresso dye ink – just a little around the edges to add contrast. The flowers and leaves were cut from Velvet and Dark Grey cardstock and co-ordinating inks used to add shading and depth to each layer. I used Instand Dimension Foam tape to pop up each layer for extra dimension. I used embossing ink and antique silver crisp embossing powder to add an edge around the card base and the same embossing powder for the sentiment.
Card 2:
For this card I started by die cutting the layers of the flowers and leaves from white and blush cardstock. I used co-ordinating inks to add depth and shading and popped up each layer with foam tape.
Build-a-Garden: Tulips and Friends
Card 1:
I began by embossing a navy cardstock panel using the Deck Planks 3D Embossing Folder and then swiping white pigment ink over the raised areas to enhance the texture. I then stamped the floral image using Golden Peach Crisp Embossing Powder and used the stencils to colour in the image. This was then die cut using the matching die and popped up using foam tape.
Craft-your-Life Project Kit: Always Sunshine
Card 1:
I used the embossing folder in the kit to emboss a piece of paper from the Gel Printing: Soft Washes 6×6 paper pad. I then sanded the raised areas to expose the texture and enhance the image further. As the paper has a white core, it is possible to do this. I then stamped and embossed the image using Antique Silver Crisp Embossing Powder and then used the stencils to colour in the image. This was popped up using foam tape. The sentiment is from Simple Greetings Die Set. The base panel is some royal blue cardstock from my stash.
Card 2:
I again used the embossing folder for the base panel. The image was stamped using Obsidian Pigment Ink and used the layering stencils to add colour to the image. The sentiment is from the Essential Sentiment Die Set
Paint-a-Flower: China Rose
Card 1:
I stamped the image using antique gold embossing powder and then used the Watercolor 36 pan set to watercolor the images using a very simple loose coloring technique. The trick is to start with a light wash of color and then build up the color and shading using extra layers of watercolor. The sentiment is from the same stamp set. I love to watercolour and although I am no expert, I keep practicing to improve my skills.
Card 2:
I also love to color with colored pencils and my Altenew Woodless Coloring Pencils are what I often turn to to relax and just color. Pencil coloring does take a bit longer but I find I have a lot more control with this medium.
Thank you so much for visiting today, I really hope I have inspired you. All the product links are below as well as the next Eduator to hop to. Until next time, happy crafting!
